The fulfilled prophecies
« I have told you these things before they happen, so that when they do happen, you may believe. »
« Only God can see the future… and reveal it in advance. »
Why are prophecies so important?
Because they prove that God truly spoke — and that the Bible is not just any book.
The Bible is not an obscure book, forgotten by the world. It is the most read, the most translated, and the most distributed book in all of history.
Over 5 billion copies. Why? Perhaps because it speaks to everyone — transcending conditions, rising above castes and crowns… to speak to the heart.
In its pages, God has left precise predictions, sometimes written centuries in advance — so that we know He is real, living, and sovereign over history.
He does not call us to blind faith.
He calls us through these prophecies: by giving us proof that He truly is who He says He is.
Has this book really predicted history?
And if what it says about the past has come true… then what it announces for tomorrow deserves to be taken seriously.
Here is why this article exists: to show that the Bible is not just a collection of beliefs, but a prophetic book — a book that contains declarations made before events occur. Prophecies. Announced facts, then fulfilled. Through them, God speaks to us. Why? To show us that He truly is who He claims to be:
the only one who knows the end from the beginning, the only one capable of inspiring men to write history… before it happens.
Take the time to examine what follows. Analyze, reflect, compare.
1. The miraculous birth of the Messiah
- Prophecy: The Messiah will be born of a virgin. « Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. » Isaiah 7:14
- ✅ Fulfillment: Matthew 1:22–23 « Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel, » which means, « God with us. »
This could not have been arranged by men: it is a supernatural announcement, fulfilled.
2. Birth in Bethlehem
- Prophecy: The Messiah will be born in a specific town, Bethlehem. »But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel. » Micah 5:1
- ✅ Fulfillment: Matthew 2:1″Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod. »
3. Betrayed for 30 pieces of silver
- Prophecy: He will be betrayed for a specific amount: 30 pieces of silver. »They weighed out my wages—thirty pieces of silver. And the Lord said to me, ‘Throw it to the potter’—the handsome price at which they valued me. » Zechariah 11:12–13
- ✅ Fulfillment: Matthew 26:15; 27:5–7 « They paid him thirty pieces of silver… Judas threw the money into the temple… and they bought the potter’s field. »
4. Abandoned by His disciples and denied by Peter
- Prophecy: Jesus foretold that all His disciples would flee at the time of His arrest (Matthew 26:31-32). He also predicted that Peter would deny Him three times before the rooster crowed.
- ✅ Fulfillment: As foretold, the disciples fled: « Then all the disciples deserted him and fled. » (Matthew 26:56)Peter, however, strongly protested when he heard the prophecy: « Even if all fall away because of you, I will never fall away. » (Matthew 26:33) But Jesus replied: « Truly I tell you, this very night, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times. » (Matthew 26:34). And indeed, later that night, Peter denied Jesus three times. When the rooster crowed, he remembered Jesus’ words… and broke down in tears. (Matthew 26:69-75)
5. Death by crucifixion (even before its invention)
- Prophecy: His hands and feet will be pierced. »They have pierced my hands and my feet. » Psalm 22:17″He was pierced for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities. » Isaiah 53:5
- ✅Fulfillment: John 20:25″Unless I see the nail marks in his hands… I will not believe. »
This prophecy was made several centuries before crucifixion was even invented. How is that possible?
6. Not a single one of His bones broken
- Prophecy: Not a single bone will be broken. »He protects all his bones; not one of them will be broken. » Psalm 34:21″You shall not break any of its bones. » (referring to the Passover lamb) Exodus 12:46
- ✅ Fulfillment: John 19:33 « They did not break his legs, because they saw he was already dead. »
7. Buried in the tomb of a rich man
- Prophecy: He will be with the rich in His death. »He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death. » Isaiah 53:9
- ✅Fulfillment: Matthew 27:57–60
- « Joseph of Arimathea… a rich man… asked for the body of Jesus… and laid it in a new tomb. »
8. Jesus predicts His crucifixion and resurrection
- Prophecy: He will not remain in the tomb. »The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of men, be crucified, and on the third day rise again. »(Luke 24:7)
- ✅ Fulfillment: « He is not here; for He has risen, as He said. Come, see the place where He lay. » Matthew 28:6. « Jesus himself stood among them and said, ‘Peace be with you!’ […] ‘See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me and see; a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.’ » (Luke 24:36–39). And as if that were not enough, His disappearance caused turmoil even at the highest levels of the Roman Empire. The authorities, overwhelmed by the event, bribed the guards to spread a lie (Matthew 28:12–15). Meanwhile, His disciples — transformed by what they had witnessed — proclaimed His resurrection with unwavering strength. A message that would soon shake the established order and change the course of history.
9. Nations will hear His message
- Prophecy: The light will reach the Gentiles. »I will make you a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth. » Isaiah 49:6 « This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations. » (Matthew 24:14)
✅ Fulfillment: An unknown Jewish carpenter became the most influential figure in world history. Today, the message of Jesus Christ has crossed continents, languages, and cultural barriers. The Gospel is proclaimed in nearly every nation, sometimes even at the cost of persecution. And that’s not all…The Bible — the book that carries this message — is the most read, most translated, and most distributed book in all of history, with over 5 billion copies worldwide. No other text comes close. This fact alone is a striking fulfillment of prophecy: the message has indeed reached the ends of the earth.Acts 13:47; Matthew 28:19: « Go and make disciples of all nations. »
10. Rejected by His own people
- Prophecy: He will be despised by His own. »Despised and rejected by men… we held him in low esteem. » Isaiah 53:3″The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. » Psalm 118:22 « He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. » John 1:11
✅ Fulfillment: When Jesus came, He was not recognized by the majority of His own people. The religious authorities rejected Him, and He was handed over to the Romans. But this rejection was not limited to His time.Even today, most of the Jewish people do not recognize Jesus as the Messiah. This too was foretold in the Bible — and continues to be true, two thousand years later. This rejection will not last forever, for other prophecies speak of the people of Israel returning to their Messiah…But for now, the faithfulness of this prophecy spans the centuries.
11. Israel will survive and return to its land
- Prophecy: Israel scattered… but not destroyed. »If these laws vanish from before me… then the descendants of Israel will cease to be a nation before me. » Jeremiah 31:36″Behold, I will gather them from among the nations… and bring them back to their own land. » Ezekiel 37:21–22
- ✅ Fulfillment: The return in 1948. A people scattered for 2,000 years return to their land. Unique in history. Such an event provides historical and scriptural evidence that the Bible is not just a human book — but the voice of a living God who truly spoke through His creation. Prophecies are not just words on a page. They are the beats of a divine heart calling His children to return before the night falls. History is reaching its climax. Heaven is preparing. And the King is approaching.
He was just a carpenter… yet everyone knows His name.
And then, there’s this striking reality:
A simple Jewish carpenter, without an army, without wealth, without political power…
has shaped history more deeply than any emperor, conqueror, or king.
Two thousand years later, He is better known than Julius Caesar, more celebrated than Napoleon, and more studied than Socrates.
The book that tells His story — the Bible — is the best-selling, most translated, and most widely distributed book in all of history.
Our calendar is based on His birth.
And He is the head of the world’s largest religion:
over 2.3 billion people still claim Jesus Christ today.
What other historical figure has left such a mark? And yet… this name, so powerful, so universal, is also the most mocked, blasphemed, and ridiculed.
Not that of Buddha.
Nor that of Krishna.
Nor that of Muhammad.
But always that of Jesus.
How many times have we heard it — not in prayer, but as an exclamation:
« Jesus Christ! », « Oh my God! », « Lord! »
As if that name, even when rejected, burns the conscience.
As if it carries within it a power that cannot be erased.
« They hated me without cause. » — John 15:25
« God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name. » — Philippians 2:9
Maybe it’s because He is more than just a name. Maybe it’s because deep inside, we already know He is the truth. Maybe, at the very core… we know that it’s Him?
🤔 Jesus: The Only One to Check All the Boxes
Isn’t it remarkable that one man — Jesus of Nazareth — fulfilled every single prophetic marker announced centuries before?
– Born in Bethleem
– Rejected by His own,
– Betrayed for thirty pieces of silver,
– Condemned without cause,
– Crucified between two criminals,
– Laid in the tomb… then resurrected on the third day.
Precise details, impossible to orchestrate by human hands. Yet, all fulfilled in the life of one man. What are the chances that a man could, by mere coincidence, fulfill dozens of ancient prophecies — often seemingly contradictory (suffering yet glorious, rejected yet exalted, weak yet eternal)? One name stands out. One fits perfectly.
Jesus. Perhaps because He was not just a mere man.
Yes, He truly is the One the prophets awaited,
the one whose name echoes through the ages…
because He conquered death,
and eternity belongs to Him.
His name still calls out.
Not in thunder, nor in earthquake, nor in fire… But in “a gentle whisper” (1 Kings 19:12).
« Et voici, l’Éternel passa.
Il y eut un vent fort et violent, qui déchirait les montagnes et brisait les rochers devant l’Éternel :
mais l’Éternel n’était pas dans le vent.
Et après le vent, un tremblement de terre :
l’Éternel n’était pas dans le tremblement de terre.
Et après le tremblement de terre, un feu :
l’Éternel n’était pas dans le feu.
Et après le feu,
un murmure doux et léger
.
»
— 1 Rois 19:11–12
He still calls.
Not in the noise, but in the silence of the soul.
Do you hear Him?
Will you answer?
