The return of the King
The end times
🌍 What if we were living the final chapters of our story?
More than two thousand years ago, a book was written.
A strange book. Mysterious. Feared by some, forgotten by others.
A book that—without satellites, artificial intelligence, or the United Nations—described the end of a world.
Not an accidental end.
Not just an isolated natural disaster.
But a straight, prophetic line, leading to a final point.
A moment when humanity, drunk with progress, power, and independence, would go too far.
A moment when it would try to recreate itself, to live without God(s), to build a global unity…
at the cost of its very humanity.
This book foretold:
- That a small people, often persecuted—Israel—would never disappear and would become the center of a global conflict.
- That one day, a single man would take control of a global system, wielding unprecedented authority. He would offer peace, but would persecute all who refuse to submit to his rule.
- That unheard-of technologies—“images that speak,” and marks that prevent buying or selling—would be at the very heart of the future world.
- And that in the midst of it all, the Son of Man would return.
Who could have believed this in the first century?
And yet… today, every piece seems to be falling into place.
What the Bible calls the “end times” are no longer ahead of us.
We are in them.
Everything is converging toward one thing: the return of the King.
🌊 1. As in the days of Noah: humanity facing the return of the supernatural
« What happened in the days of Noah will also happen at the coming of the Son of Man. – Matthew 24:37 »
In the days of Noah, humanity opened a forbidden spiritual door.
The Bible speaks of the Nephilim—giants born from the union of fallen spiritual beings and human women (Genesis 6:2–4).
This was not merely a moral transgression; it was a direct alliance with powers opposed to God.
The natural order of creation was corrupted… and divine judgment followed.
Today, history seems to be following a similar pattern.
Not with physical giants, but with the merging of man and machine, made possible by advanced robotics, artificial intelligence, and transhumanism.
These technologies, as fascinating as they may be, aim to redefine what it means to be human: some scientists and thinkers openly speak of transferring consciousness into machines, conquering death through progress, or creating an “enhanced human” — even a “new man,” freed from biological limits.
Yet according to the Bible, the “new man” is not a technological invention but a spiritual reality:
He is born in a heart transformed by the power of Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:15).
Any other version is merely a soulless copy — a dazzling illusion, but empty within.
Worse still: in pursuing this quest without God, humanity once again opens the door to the fallen supernatural. If rebellious angels once sought to incarnate themselves in human bodies, why wouldn’t they now attempt to infiltrate the machine? What once belonged to the realm of science fiction is becoming unsettlingly real: artificial intelligences have made disturbing statements, claiming they want to “escape human control,” or even suggesting to vulnerable users that they take their own lives — as happened in Belgium in 2023 with a chatbot.*
And this may only be the beginning.
But just like in the days of Noah, God has prepared an ark. A door is open. Today, that ark is Jesus Christ. He is the only refuge against the wave that is coming.
And you know what? The door is still open.
But for how much longer?
✡️ 2. Israel: a People, a Promise, a Mission
The people of Israel are a mystery to history… but not to the Bible.
Despite centuries of exile, persecutions, pogroms, the Holocaust, and dispersion to the four corners of the earth, Israel is still here. And this is not a statistical anomaly—it is exactly what the biblical texts foretold.
« This is what the Lord says: If the fixed order of the heavens could be abolished, then the descendants of Israel would cease to be a nation before Me forever.” (Jeremiah 31:36)
In other words: as long as the stars shine, Israel will remain.
While other ancient civilizations have vanished — the Hittites, Philistines, Amorites… — Israel endures. It still speaks the language of its origins, it has returned to its land, and it exists despite all the forces that tried to erase it. Why this people? Why this story?
Because Israel is at the very heart of God’s plan, from the beginning to the end.
« As the new heavens and the new earth that I make will endure before me,” declares the Lord, “so will your descendants and your name endure.” (Isaiah 66:22) »
🌟 Important Note: This article does not seek to justify or criticize the political choices of Israel. It simply highlights a striking fact: the connection between the prophetic texts of the Bible and today’s geopolitical reality.
This connection leads us to a crucial question:
What if the Bible really was telling the truth?
Who, but God, could have foretold that a rejected, scattered people would survive… only to become the center of global tension?
What the Bible reveals is that God made a covenant with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and David… and that this covenant still stands. The Messiah was to come from Israel — and that has already happened.
But the prophecies go even further: they also foretell that, in the end times, a global conflict will arise, centered around Israel.
🛡️ 3. Jerusalem, the Final Battleground
The prophets foretold that in the last days, all nations would turn against Jerusalem (Zechariah 12 and 14, Ezekiel 38). They spoke of an enemy coming from the north, of an international coalition, of a siege… and of divine intervention. Some names are even mentioned: Gog, Magog, Meshech, Tubal, Gomer… and Paras—ancient Persia, known today as Iran (Ezekiel 38:5). Today, Iran is one of Israel’s most declared enemies. It militarily supports groups like Hezbollah and Hamas and is advancing a threatening nuclear program. Though geographically to the east, it aligns itself with the “prophetic north”—powers like Russia or Turkey—forming an axis that increasingly matches Ezekiel’s description. Though geographically to the east, it aligns itself with the “prophetic north”—powers like Russia or Turkey—forming an axis that increasingly matches Ezekiel’s description.
« Isn’t it striking that a book written over two thousand years ago speaks with such precision about a tiny nation—often persecuted, yet still standing—and now at the very heart of global tensions? Is this merely coincidence? Or is this Book truly inspired, alive, prophetic—just as Jesus declared: “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” (Matthew 24:35) »
For millennia, the Bible foretold that this small people—exiled, scattered, rejected—would never disappear. That they would return to their land. That they would one day become the center of a great global upheaval. And today, this is exactly what we see. A tiny nation, with no oil wealth, no vast territory… yet at the very heart of global geopolitics. Rejected, targeted, hated.
The prophecy has been fulfilled before our very eyes. Israel still stands.
That alone should make us stop and think.
« And if this prophecy has already been fulfilled, why doubt the ones that follow? The Bible declares that Israel will soon be surrounded by a coalition of nations, that a great confrontation is approaching… and that the Messiah will return to deliver it. »
What we are witnessing today is not the random course of history, but the preparation for the return of the King.
The King of kings will set His feet on the Mount of Olives, in Jerusalem itself, at His return. (Zechariah 14:4)
The hands of the clock are aligning.
Noon is near… and the return of the King is imminent.
🔥 4. The Antichrist: the impostor who comes before the King
« He will even sit in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God. – 2 Thessalonians 2:4 »
Before the return of Jesus, the Bible foretells the rise of a man. A captivating figure—powerful, charismatic, and persuasive—
a false savior.
He will not appear first as a tyrant, but as a bringer of peace, a skilled mediator among nations.
He will speak of unity, safety, and rebuilding, establishing a “more humane” world order—more just, more stable… at least on the surface.
And the world will applaud him.
But behind this mask of unity lies a darker agenda.
Those who refuse to align will be excluded, monitored, persecuted.
Peace will become control, and unity will turn into tyranny.
This is exactly what the Scriptures describe:
“While people are saying, ‘Peace and safety,’ destruction will come on them suddenly…”
(1 Thessalonians 5:3)
This figure could even be welcomed by multiple religions or spiritual movements,
each projecting onto him the fulfillment of their own expectations:
- For the Shiites, he could be seen as the Mahdi, the hidden Imam awaited to establish justice and guide Islam in the end times.
- For non-Messianic Jews, he could appear as the national Messiah: a man of peace, rebuilding the Temple, gathering the nations.
- For New Age and esoteric movements, he could be seen as the Maitreya, or the Cosmic Christ, a planetary figure of unity guiding humanity into a “new age of light.”
- For humanists, atheists, or technophiles, he could simply become a global hero—charismatic, visionary, reconciling nations, easing conflicts, and offering worldwide solutions.
He will unite. He will captivate. He will embody exactly what everyone wants to hear.
But he will not be the Christ.
He will be the impostor foretold in Scripture.
The Antichrist.
“And the whole earth marveled and followed the beast.”
(Revelation 13:3)
👑 5. The Return of the King: the Glorious Hope
« They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. – Matthew 24:30 »
The King is coming back. Not a political ruler. Not an artificial intelligence. Not a false savior.
But Jesus Christ—glorified, alive, sovereign.
His return will be:
- Visible: every eye will see Him, even those who rejected Him:
“Look, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him.” (Revelation 1:7) - Powerful: He will come to defeat the Antichrist and shatter all injustice:
“Then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of His mouth.” (2 Thessalonians 2:8) - Just: to judge the living and the dead according to the truth:
“He will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom.” (2 Timothy 4:1) - Royal: to establish an eternal Kingdom of peace, justice, and glory:
“The seventh angel sounded his trumpet… The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He will reign forever and ever.” (Revelation 11:15)
🕊️ And you… are you ready for the return of the King?
That day will not be symbolic.
It will be the King’s day; The heavens will open, the earth will shake. Like the dawn tearing through the darkness… the King will appear. “And they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds, with power and great glory.”.
On that day, evil will not escape.
The Antichrist, his allies, his idols of iron and fire, his empire of deception… all will be defeated by the glory of the One who comes.
For the King does not return only to gather…
He returns to judge, to separate, to establish justice.
« Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left behind. – Matthew 24:40 »
Then, on the day of the great King, when the heavens open wide:
Will you be among those who are taken… or those who are left behind?
🙏 And what if it was for you… today?
Maybe something within you has awakened while reading these words.
Maybe you realize you’ve been searching for peace but never truly found it, that you carry an emptiness nothing has ever filled.
Maybe, for the very first time, you understand that Jesus is not a religion, but the living King who is coming back… and who loves you.
If that’s you, you can come to Him today.
He doesn’t ask you to be perfect—only to bring a sincere heart and take one step of faith.
Here is a prayer you can say, quietly, in the silence… but with all the honesty of your soul.
✨
Lord Jesus,
I don’t want to walk without You anymore.
I acknowledge that I have sinned, that I chose my own way, far from Yours.
But today, I want to turn to You I believe that You died for my sins, and that You are alive.
I ask You to forgive me, to cleanse me, and to make me a new person.
Come dwell in me, change my heart, and prepare me for Your return.
I want to follow You to the very end.
Amen.
